Kishi Bashi - It All Began With A Burst Lyrics

"kesa ka ni sasareta"

and the sourse was your laughter
threw me off the wall
used your face as a 1___
and the medicine came after
left in a 2___
many miles from Cessna(tm)

"kesa ka ni sasareta"

one of many in the mess hall
family there and all
making money on the desktop
was at war with fast cars
many 3___ in the eyes of The Master
Burst!
(master in every way)

"kesa ka ni sasareta"

for the love of the soft game
made of models set in plaster
when in doubt of the last year
gather all your fear and
dip your hand in the blender / 4___!
In your wallet was your gender
stolen when in Rome
in the shadow of your blender
was a secret of the bedroom
blemish in the chrome
in the eye of the 5___

("chiku")
"kesa ka ni sasareta"

It All Began With Burst now
every several months
and the chemicals came after
it was a race to be faster
quicker than the worst
in the style of The Master

151a is the debut solo album from Kishi Bashi (K Ishibashi) the singer-guitarist from New York pop band Jupiter One, not to mention touring band member for Of Montreal and Regina Spector. It’s a delightfully ethereal album, with beautiful layered uplifting soundscapes. There are obvious comparisons to be made to both Andrew Bird and Owen Pallet, mostly due to the fact they share an affinity for the violin. Despite these similarities, there is sense of freshness to the album.

An album filled to the brim with lush orchestration it seems almost impossible that it’s all the work of one man. An early highlight, “Manchester” is understated and compelling, one of the albums real standout moments. “Bright Whites” is a fun track, perfect example of bright bristling indie pop, replete with jangling instrumentation and handclaps. Think of Jinja Safari and you wouldn’t be too far off.

“It All Began With A Burst” is a similarly upbeat and joyful track, a deft mix of synth, beats and looped violin. “Wonder Woman, Wonder Me” is some nice orchestral pop, similar, in a way, to the Pallet’s work but, at the same time, different enough to distinguish itself. It also serves as a nice respite from the buoyant energy of the first couple of songs, and “Chester’s Burst Over The Hamptons” which is quite simply an explosion of staccato violin and rapid-fire vocals.

The album draws to a close in more relaxed understated manner. Songs like “I Am The Antichrist To You” whilst still very well composed and well delivered, don’t have the same brimming energy levels of the earlier songs. Here the orchestration is more fluid, giving the closing songs an added emotional quality. The extra tracks, which accompany the Australia release, mostly fall into the more understated bracket. They are seemingly more organic, and less reliant on synth or electronic wizardry. That being said, my favourite extra track “Unicorns Die When You Leave” is brilliantly fun.

既是美國前衛迷幻團of Montreal成員的K Ishibashi a.k.a.
