Discovery Channel Celebrates Taiwan's100th Anniversary

As the Presidential Building is nearly a century old,the show gives the people of Taiwanan opportunity to learn more about an extraordinary landmark that’s steeped inhistory.”

歡慶建國百年，由行政院新聞局與Discovery頻道合作的「台灣無比精采：走進總統府」及「台灣無比精采：百年風華」系列節目十月即將首映，這是首支介紹總統府的紀錄片，讓人一窺百年歷史建築之美及台灣民主歷程，並呈現九位台灣之光的精采故事，連馬總統看了後都深受感動。

總統府昨天首度開放敞廳舉行首映記者會。馬總統看了剪輯表示，從沒想過每天上班的總統府，在Discovery的攝影下，會變得這麼美，「我將來上班會更珍惜每一天的日子」。

馬總統表示，總統府這棟建築物歷經百年，也歷經了這個國家一百年的艱苦，但越來越苦盡甘來，漸入佳境；此時，Discovery頻道能夠把台灣之美展現出來，相信對每一個國民都是一件歡欣鼓舞的事情。

他指出，「百年風華」中所呈現的人物並非都是大人物，可能只是一個庶民、平凡的小人物，但卻展現了不平凡的風采，更是展現台灣的精神。

新聞局長楊永明表示，希望能透過這一系列的節目，讓亞洲國家人民看到台灣之多元豐富的內涵及人文景觀，節目在台首播後，隨後在亞太地區播出卅八次。

節目共分三集播出，分別為「走進總統府」、「百年風華之傳承」及「百年風華之創新」，除介紹總統府建築之美和歷史故事外，還包括台灣錦鯉女王鍾瑩瑩、台南首席總鋪師汪義勇、高雄亞洲遊艇王呂佳揚、大龍國小八佾舞洪暐哲、金門排雷大隊、一○一大樓高空煙火團隊等具有台灣精神的傳承與創新代表人物。
