LeBron top! Miami Heat crowned NBA Champions after dominating against Oklahoma

The Miami Heat have been crowned 2012 NBA Champions after a dominating 121-106 at home to the Oklahoma City Thunder last night.

The win sealed a 4-1 series victory for Miami with LeBron James continuing his fine form with a 26 point, 13 assist and 11 rebound triple-double on a night where backup Mike Miller was a surprise hero with 23 points including seven three-pointers.

Unsurprisingly James was crowned NBA Finals MVP after a stunning series with US internationals Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh also major contributors.

For James this was his first title after losing in the NBA Finals in 2007 (with Cleveland) and 2011 (with Miami). He said after the game: “Oh man, this right here is the happiest day of my life, and I wouldn’t spend it with nobody else in the world besides my teammates. This is a dream come true.”

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said: “We got knocked down to the canvas two or three times this playoff run, but the thing that matters, we got up and we kept on working.”

Thunder coach Scott Brooks said: “They (the Heat) did a fantastic job. Coach Spoelstra did a great job coaching that team. We ran into a team that was tough to beat tonight. But I thought they did a great job in the series.”

He added he was proud of his young team: “Unfortunately we didn’t accomplish our goal of winning the championship, but I thought we gave great effort all year long to put us in this position.”

Kevin Durant, the league leading scorer and Thunder star had 32 points and 11 rebounds in the game and the 23-year-old said afterwards: “It hurts. It hurts, man. We’re all brothers on this team and it just hurts to go out like this. We made it to The Finals which is cool for us, but we didn’t want to just make it there. Unfortunately we lost, so it’s tough. But as a whole, I’m proud of the guys on how we fought all season.”

This was just the second time the Heat have won the title. Dwyane Wade was crowned Finals MVP when they beat the Dallas Mavericks in 2006. LeBron James and Chris Bosh joined Wade in Miami in 2010 but the Dallas Mavericks beat the Heat in last year’s NBA Finals.

熱火隊走過去年的失敗，「大帝」詹姆斯度過背棄克里夫蘭騎士隊的謾罵，終於嘗到NBA總冠軍的滋味；熱火昨天以一二一比一○六擊敗雷霆隊，在總冠軍賽以四勝一敗封王。

在NBA拚戰九年，詹姆斯第一次知道什麼叫做總冠軍的味道。上季他加盟熱火和韋德、波許組成「熱火三王」，但卻在最後遭小牛隊逆轉封王，失落之外詹姆斯的稱霸能力飽受外界質疑。

昨天他終於證明自己實力，擺脫去年「關鍵時刻無法挺身而出」的罪名，第五戰以「大三元」數據率領熱火第三節就拉開達廿分的差距，也勇奪總冠軍賽MVP，成為二○○三年馬刺隊鄧肯之後，第一位包辦例行賽、總冠軍賽最有價值球員的超級巨星。

除詹姆斯和鄧肯，達成此紀錄的當然還有球迷耳熟能詳的「籃球大帝」喬丹。喬丹在一九九一年到一九九八年之間四度達成，榜上有名者還有「魔術」強森，「大鳥」博德等。

詹姆斯說現在想起來，「去年最好的事情就是總冠軍賽失敗。」從騎士跳槽熱火，遭許多球迷圍勦的他當時當然不可能如此釋懷，但經過一年的沉澱和努力後，在此時證明自己並非永遠無緣冠軍。

「我回歸基本面，所以再次獲得挺進總冠軍賽的機會，這些付出都有了回報。」詹姆斯表示，他最在乎的就是冠軍戒指，「現在我不管自己是否是聯盟第一人，也不論大家是否認定我是最棒的球員，我只知道我是個總冠軍。」

雷霆一路擊敗小牛、湖人和馬刺隊，未料在總冠軍賽兵敗如山倒，只拿下首勝後就吞四連敗，系列戰只拚五場與總冠軍擦身而過。
